Lakshmipat Singhania - IIM, Lucknow National Leadership Awards, seek to honour the legacy and vision of Late Lakshmipat Singhania, a pioneering Indian industrialist; by annually acknowledging outstanding transformational leaders who have taken concrete steps to make our nation stronger and better.

The prestigious award ceremony took place at Vigyan Bhawan on December 7, 2023. The Honorable President Draupadi Murmu Ji, added grace to the event with her presence.

Shri Sanjiv Bajaj

Mr Sanjiv Bajaj, the Chairman and Managing Director of Bajaj Finserv Limited, has played a pivotal role in shaping the trajectory of the financial services businesses within the Bajaj Group, one of India's oldest and largest conglomerates. Through his visionary leadership and strategic acumen spanning over 16 years, Bajaj Finserv has transformed into a preeminent and highly diversified financial services group in India. Bajaj Finserv today offers, across its nine entities, a wide product range including but not limited to financing, deposits, investments, general and insurance solutions, asset management, digital stock broking, venture capital, a health-tech company for preventive and cashless healthcare and a digital marketplace for financial services leveraging the API ecosystem, big data, modern web and app technologies.

Shri Nithin Kamath

An Indian entrepreneur and the co-founder of Zerodha, a leading discount brokerage firm in India. He was born on December 5, 1979, in Hassan, a town in the Indian state of Karnataka. Kamath dropped out of college and started his career as a trader in the Indian stock market. He later worked for several stockbrokers and trading firms before starting Zerodha in 2010 with his brother, Nikhil Kamath. Zerodha pioneered the concept of discount broking in India, providing traders and investors with cost-effective brokerage fees and cutting-edge technology platforms. Presently, Zerodha stands as the foremost discount brokerage firm in India. Kamath is also known for his contributions to the Indian startup ecosystem and has invested in several startups, including Rainmatter, a fintech incubator, and Smallcase, an investment platform. He is also a popular blogger and has written extensively on trading and investing.

Dr. V. Mohan

A renowned Indian diabetologist and researcher who has significantly contributed to diabetes management and research. He is the Chairman and Chief of Diabetology at Dr Mohan's Diabetes Specialities Centre and the President and Director of the Madras Diabetes Research Foundation in Chennai, India. Dr Mohan holds a medical degree (MBBS) from Madras Medical College in Chennai and M.D. from Madras Medical College, Madras. He later received training in endocrinology and metabolism at the University of Newcastle, Tyne, in the United Kingdom. With an extensive career spanning more than four decades in diabetes management and research, Dr. Mohan is a seasoned expert in the field. In 1991, he founded Dr. Mohan's Diabetes Specialities Centre, now recognised as one of the foremost centres for diabetes care in India. Additionally, Dr. Mohan established the Madras Diabetes Research Foundation, committed to conducting research focused on the prevention and management of diabetes.

Dr. Ritu Karidhal Srivastava

Dr. Ritu Karidhal Srivastava is an Indian scientist working with the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). She was a Deputy Operations Director for India's Mars orbital mission, Mangalyaan. She has been referred to as one of the many "Rocket Women'' of India. She was born and brought up in Lucknow and is an aerospace engineer. Dr. Karidhal completed her B. Sc. in Physics from the University of Lucknow. She completed her M. Sc. in Physics from the University of Lucknow and enrolled in a Physics Department doctorate course. She later taught in the same department. She was a research scholar at Lucknow University for six months. She joined IISc, Bangalore, to pursue a master's in aerospace engineering. Dr. Karidhal has worked for ISRO since 1997. She played a key role in developing India's Mars Orbiter Mission, Mangalyaan, dealing with the detailing and execution of the craft's onward autonomy system. She was also the Deputy Operations Director of this mission. She was one of the greatest achievements of ISRO. It made India the fourth country in the world to reach Mars. It was done in 18 months and at a far lesser cost. Her job was to conceptualise and execute the craft's onward autonomy system, which operated the satellite's functions independently in space and responded appropriately to malfunctions. She supervised the Chandrayaan 2 mission as the mission director.

Dr. Jamuna Tudu

Environmental activist from Mathurgham-Chakulia village in East Singhbhum district, Jharkhand. She is renowned as 'Lady Tarzan' for her efforts in combating the timber mafia and Naxals in the region. Jamuna is the founder of the 'Van Suraksha Samiti,' which works to prevent the illegal felling of trees in and around her village. Jamuna's fight for forest conservation began in 2000 when she noticed that a forest mafia was illegally cutting down trees in the nearby forests. She took it upon herself to confront the woodcutters, and soon, many women from her community joined her in patrolling the forests and protecting the 50-hectare forest around the village. Today, the Forest Safety Committee she founded has over 60 active women members, who patrol the forests in three shifts and even pay visits at night when the mafia tries to set fire to the forest.

Shri Piyush Tiwari

Founder of Savelife Foundation, a non-profit organisation in India that works to improve emergency medical care and road safety in the country. Tiwari founded the Savelife Foundation in 2008 after his experience of being in a road accident and realising the lack of organised emergency medical services in India. Guided by Mr. Piyush Tiwari's leadership, the Savelife Foundation has initiated numerous programs to enhance emergency medical care. Among these is the establishment of the "Golden Hour Ambulance," a national emergency medical services network designed to deliver prompt medical assistance to accident victims. The organisation has further contributed to road safety by actively advocating for policy reforms and educating the public on safe driving practices.
